Thank you for spending your lunch hour with us in Winston Salem! Our guest speaker is Cheryl Brandberg, Development Director of Community Housing Solutions. At today's lunch meeting, Cheryl will be sharing with us information about Community Housing Solutions and their programs.
- Community Housing Solutions’ mission is to make Guilford County homes warmer, drier and safer by providing repairs and ownership opportunities to low-income homeowners.
- CHS’s Home Repair program– 75% of those we serve are elderly or disabled and cannot physically or financially afford to do the work on their own. We complete 175 home repairs a year to make homes warmer, drier and safer.
- CHS’s Aging Gracefully program – a partnership with Cone Health. Cone provides free, in-home OT and RN visits while our construction team provides repairs and modifications guided by these visits to make the home safer for the 65+ year old, qualifying homeowner.
- CHS’s new construction program – building 8-10 new homes per year on vacant lots in High Point and Greensboro.
- Operation Inasmuch – a partnership between Community Housing Solutions, Housing Consultants Group and the City of High Point. This one-day event occurs twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, and is focused on home repairs and neighborhood revitalization in the core city of High Point.
- Saturday, October 23 in Macedonia/Pershing neighborhoods – Triad REIA will have a team to help at this event.
