Do You Have Property That Could be Ideal for Listing on the Short Term-Rental Market such as Airbnb, Vrbo and Other Platforms?
- Whether you’re interested in putting your own property on the short-term rental market on platforms such as Airbnb, or Vrbo, or if your interest is to lease other people’s properties and turn them into short term rentals (arbitrage), knowing some of the research techniques the pros use can provide the insight you need about your target market, such as:
- Pricing: what’s the high, low, and mid-range pricing, how many listings at each, and what kind of prices are people actually getting there, and what are they not getting?
- Accommodation: where are the exploitable gaps and opportunities in the market in terms of number of guests, bedrooms, beds, bathrooms, outdoor seating, fireplace, floorplan, quality of the property, quality of photos, and anything else you can think of that might cause visitors to pick your place over another?
-
- Are people taking advantage of the length-of-stay discount feature on Airbnb to reward guests (and yourself) for longer stays?
- Can you make enough money with the property available to make it worth the effort?
