Learn how these hard working charities help our communities by helping those who cannot help themselves.

Community Housing Solutions (CHS), a branch of Operation Inasmuch, provides home repairs to qualifying families who are owner-occupants of Guilford County homes and are below specific income levels. The scope of repairs may include but is not limited to roofs, plumbing, floors, energy efficiency repairs, accessibility modifications, electrical hazards, and code violations. Work that is cosmetic or optional in nature does not fall within the scope of the program. We focus on repair issues which make a home warmer, drier, and safer. With the help of more than 700 volunteers a year, CHS has provided critical home repairs to over 1650 homes since our inception.
Community Housing solutions home repair program helps make a home a safe, decent, healthy, and affordable place to live. The average home repair cost for CHS is currently $8600 per home. The impact of an $8600 investment in a low-income family’s home is PRICELESS: these neighbors can experience improved overall health and well-being, reduced utility bills and housing cost burden, and a home that is warm, dry, and safe to shelter in all while strengthening and stabilizing the neighborhood.

Whole Man Ministries of North Carolina is a grassroots, nonprofit, tax-exempt organization whose mission is to contribute to the “holistic” development of people—i.e., body, mind and spirit. The organization has spawned a variety of charitable activities, including a small church, a Jail and Prison Mentoring Program, a Homeless Assistance Program, Adult Continuing Education Program, a Food Pantry Program, Clothes Closet Program and Veteran Permanent Housing. It has also nurtured the vision for the Bridging the Gap Community Center, which serves as a WinstonNet Technology Center with internet access for the public at large, computer training, and English and Spanish (as a second language) classes. Based on our location, we are especially sensitive to serving the needs of people in Southeast Winston-Salem/Forsyth County, with a focus on helping & housing homeless veterans.

Since the completion of our first home in 1988, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro has completed 509 new homes in Greensboro and 32 recycles – changing the lives of 541 families. Habitat Greensboro currently has 17 homes under construction, with plans to start 33 new homes in the next fiscal year.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Greensboro helps individuals and families buy a home they love with a mortgage that they can afford. Every Habitat home is an investment, and we view the path to homeownership as a journey. That’s why we partner with individuals and families from the time that they apply for the program, through construction, and until they have received the keys to their new home! By working with us from beginning to end, we can help prospective individuals prepare for the various responsibilities of homeownership, including learning about personal finances, mortgages, maintenance and upkeep of homes, and much more. Habitat’s path to homeownership is an important and in-depth process, requiring hard work, time, and dedication. But this helps to ensure the long-term success of Habitat homeowners.

Come early to network & order; we'll start our meeting promptly at 12:30.
