Vice President – Commercial Services Division & Title Counsel
Gates Grainger specializes in commercial transactions business development and provides the direct access to solutions-driven underwriting support that commercial clients require. Prior to joining Investors Title, Mr. Grainger spent 10 years as agency and underwriting counsel for a regional title agency and, before then, as assistant general counsel for LendingTree, LLC. After law school, Mr. Grainger joined the Real Estate and Capital Markets Practice Group for Parker, Poe, Adams & Bernstein in Charlotte, NC, as an associate. In his more than twenty-year career, Mr. Grainger has served in a variety of other roles which include working in the Capital Markets Practice Group at Womble, Carlyle, Sandridge, and Rice, PLLC, and being assistant general counsel in the Capital Markets Practice Group for First Union Corporation, both in Charlotte, NC. After earning a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Davidson College, Mr. Grainger earned a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.
Investors Title is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and has a large office for its Commercial Services Division in Charlotte.
The Commercial Services Division of Investors Title writes and coordinates commercial title insurance nationwide, with a focus on the southeast. CSD can help with the coordination, underwriting, and management of complex commercial transactions either directly or through trusted partners. In addition, Investors Title provides a range of related services to our industry partners, including escrow and 1031 like-kind exchanges.
